John,
Yesterday, I was on Fox news to discuss how the GOP and President Trump had a dominating performance in Florida in 2020 and what lessons the party can learn from it nationally. "If you look at what happened in 2020 we turned out the Republican base, we turned out President Trump's base and we grew the tent amongst black, hispanic, not just Cuban but Puerto Rican voters-- really for a number of reasons-- but we focused on the issues.
From school choice to the President's policies towards Israel. At the end of the day we tripled Trump's margins from 2016 from 1% to 3% in a state that no one has won more than 1% in many years. The party really operated in concert from the national level to the state level to the local level towards those goals. For the future of the party, we need to look to Florida as a roadmap."
This followed the op-ed I wrote last week on Florida, and I encourage you to read it here. These next few months will test our party and challenge us in ways we have never been challenged as a nation before.
It won't be easy but one thing’s for sure - together, GOP leaders in Florida will continue to deliver for you and your families, continue to move our state forward, and we will continue to win. Florida has set the playbook and every state should look to Florida as an example of how to win.
