We at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) are excited toannounce the release of the Surgeon General's Call to Action to Implement theNational Strategy to Prevent Suicide. AFSP provided input into the report andstrongly endorses the 6 Key Actions needed to make progress in reducingsuicide in our country.

Further, as the nation's leading not for profit suicide preventionorganization, AFSP will play a major role in the implementation of strategies,programs and activities that address the 6 action areas. As with all oursuicide prevention work, we will engage partners across the public, privateand voluntary sectors to make a measurable and sustainable impact. Together,we will carry out the work called for in the report, and advance our missionof saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.
