John,

Public lands restore us, and when you support The Trust for Public
Land financially, you restore public lands.

John, we are glad to have you as
a friend of The Trust for Public Land, and we hope 2021 will be the
year when you make your first gift as a supporting member. As you and
I know, the restorative benefits we receive from our forest land, park
land, river land, mountain land, meadow land - all our public
lands and parks - are infinite.

Think of how much you would give for just one glimpse of a
national monument ... for just one breath in the hush of an
ancient forest ... for just one belly laugh shared with a child you
love in a community park. Then give a fraction of it to help move our
nation beyond fighting attacks on our parks and public lands -
and reunite our communities to reclaim, repair, and restore our
natural treasures.

Your financial support will go a long way to help us tackle a long
list of priorities that might not have been possible just a few months
ago, including:

Protecting National Monuments - Utah

As a result of the previous administration, Grand Staircase-Escalante
National Monument is now nearly half its original size, and Bears Ears
National Monument was shrunk from 1.35 million acres to two sections
totaling barely 200,000 acres between them. Our nation must restore
these public lands immediately and completely.

Creating Huntington Community Forest - Vermont

This 245-acre property provides an adjoining school with an outdoor
classroom where kids can learn about the natural world every day,
while the land's trail network gives the community incredible
access to opportunities for running, hiking, snowshoeing, and
cross-country skiing. Protecting the property will also enhance flood
resiliency in the Huntington River Watershed.

Conserving the Sierra Checkerboard - California

Residential development in mountain communities like Truckee are
drastically impacting the Sierra landscape. The Sierra Checkerboard
Initiative is a three-phase, multi-year plan to consolidate and
protect the remnant checkerboard lands and the region's best
forests, rivers, and watersheds.

With your membership support, together we can do more to reclaim,
repair, and restore the public lands that do so much to restore us
all. Please make your first gift today to show how special our
public lands are to you - and how special your support is to our
public lands.

P.S. I also have great news to share! In 2021 and beyond, your
gift to The Trust for Public Land will now save $8 worth of land for
every $1 you donate. Please show your commitment to public lands with
a monthly gift or a generous one-time donation today.
