I am so excited to be joining Matt Cartwright’s campaign as Finance Director, but it definitely hasn’t been a quiet first week with so much ground to cover.
Matt is one of only seven Democrats who won Congressional races in Trump districts in 2020, and one of only three Democrats who won Trump districts in both 2016 and 2020. So, we are staffing up the campaign earlier than ever before - especially because Matt already has an official opponent in the race who is going on the attack.
That’s the whole reason he’s hired me - because we have to raise more money and start campaigning right now.
I am working furiously to expand our budget and get a fully fledged campaign operation up and running. But it isn’t cheap, and so we have the goal to raise three or four times what we did at this time of year last election.
