Relieved, Hopeful Dear John, Thank you to all who responded to our previous email asking how you would feel if Governor Evers takes the following two actions: -
Include in his budget funding for Community-level gun violence prevention programs, such as violence interruption, hospital-based interventions, and trauma response programs. -
Create a task force on gun violence prevention to develop and promote a comprehensive set of policy recommendations. At a minimum, the task force should include researchers, citizens from deeply impacted communities, social workers, and leaders from the fields of public health, domestic violence prevention, suicide prevention, and gun violence prevention. More than anything, Wisconsinites responded that they would feel relieved and hopeful. We created this word cloud to illustrate your responses, and now we are sharing it with Governor Evers and Lieutenant Governor Barnes. We are confident that seeing how passionately you feel will inspire Governor Evers to take action to prevent gun violence in Wisconsin communities. Making our voices heard, Heidi Rose, Program Director WAVE Educational Fund P.S. If you haven't sent an email to Governor Evers with these requests yet, you can do so now. |
