John -- Five weeks after domestic terrorists stormed the Capitol in an attempted coup, the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump has begun in the Senate. 

We don’t need to waste time guessing how this will play out. Washington is full of scared, yet power-hungry people who change their position based on the highest bidder or political headwinds. 

This is not to say the damage Donald Trump did to our country doesn't matter; it does. Americans deserve accountability for the attack last month. We deserve justice. But no matter the outcome of the impeachment trial, Americans are still suffering. 

We need our legislative branch to actually legislate! We are approaching 55 weeks since COVID-19 was confirmed in America. 465,000 of our fellow Americans are dead. Millions more do not have healthcare or jobs, and once the moratorium on evictions is lifted, millions more will not have a home.  

We demand better, and we are electing better. We have already sent AOC, Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman to Washington to fight for us. And we are currently recruiting folks to run for Congress in 2022. 

It’s time to elect more representatives who will hold their colleagues accountable AND legislate for millions of Americans who are in desperate need.
