CALL TO ACTION

STOP SEN. LINDA LOPEZ AND OTHERS IN THE DEMOCRAT-LED LEGISLATURE FROM PASSING BILLS THAT WEAKEN LAW ENFORCEMENT’S ABILITY TO DO ITS JOB

WATCH IMPORTANT NM STATE POLICE VIDEO MESSAGE BELOW

Dear Friends,

The message is clear: the progressive, Democrat-led agenda continues to hamper our law enforcement agencies and attack our proud men and women who serve and protect us. It’s disgraceful that certain soft-on-crime lawmakers are taking aim at local and state police.

The tragic murder of State Police officer Darian Jarrott last week is shocking, sad and remains a reminder of the dangers and risks that our brave officers face protecting New Mexicans every day. Jarrott, like all officers, is a hero.

But now certain left-leaning lawmakers are pushing to limit officers’ powers, abilities and measures that could lead to future tragedies. All this, while New Mexicans and law enforcement communities cannot testify in public at the Roundhouse.

Below is a video message from Jose Carrasco, President of the New Mexico State Police Association. He, as all of us should be, is furious at a number of pending bills that handcuff law enforcement and also endangers lives.

In particular, Carrasco points to SB-227, a bill sponsored by Sen. Linda Lopez. It’s legislation that ties the hands of officers, taking away vital tools from police to effectively do their job. This bill endangers lives and would allow criminals to use deadly force against officers.

CONTACT SEN. LINDA LOPEZ, Majority Whip, and demand that she stop this dangerous and despicable bill from moving forward. It goes against our brave men and women in blue:

Carrasco also mentions Speaker Brian Egolf’s intention to take away “qualified immunity,” another tool that helps officers do their job effectively and HB-140, that removes minimum and mandatory sentences for child predators.

This soft-on-crime agenda and anti-police legislation must stop!
