Today is day one of Trump’s second impeachment trial.

Trump tried to take a wrecking ball to our democracy. He spread lies and conspiracies about our free and fair elections. When that didn’t work he incited an insurrection. Five Americans died that day, and Donald Trump’s words and actions are to blame.

The Senate must hold Trump accountable for his actions.

The integrity of our democracy rests on our ability to convict Trump. He violated the Constitution and needs to answer for his misconduct. Our leaders need to know that they cannot get away with any attempt to overturn a free and fair election.
