Republican senators were stunned when Democrat Jamie Raskin opened the Trump impeachment trial by debunking their argument that it's "too late" to convict a guilty ex-president, saying doing that would "create a January exception to the Constitution."

Raskin said, "Their argument is that if you commit an impeachable offense in your last few weeks in office, you do it with constitutional impunity. You get away with it. In other words, conduct that would be a high crime and misdemeanor in your 1st year as president, and your 2nd year as president, and your 3rd year as president, and the vast majority of your 4th year as president, you can suddenly do in your last few weeks as president without facing any constitutional accountability at all. This would create a brand new January exception to the Constitution of the United States."

This is exactly what our ad starring Raskin previewed in recent days as we pumped it into the nation's capital on MSNBC, FOX, and CNN.

We're making a new ad featuring Raskin's opening argument today. We still need Republican senators to hear it over and over again.

Please help us replay Raskin's argument in DC so senators remember it when they vote in a few days. Click here to watch and air this on TV!

When we aired our first Raskin ad, we got positive feedback from people in Congress, reporters, political allies, and activists. It's powerful.

We'll keep Raskin's opening argument front and center for senators with your help. Watch it here.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
