Democrat,
We hit a big milestone yesterday, as Governor Phil Murphy announced that New Jersey has now administered over 1 Million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to residents across our state. That means that we are one step closer to the Governor’s goal of vaccinating 70% of the state’s adult population by the Summer, and that we are getting closer to ending the pandemic and returning to our normal lives.

While vaccine supply is still lower than needed, the pace of vaccinations is clearly picking up. From the first day vaccines were administered on December 15th, it took 39 days to reach 500,000 total doses given. It took only 16 days from there for the total to reach 1 million, a dramatic increase in speed. This increase is due both to the jump in vaccine supply and the strong distribution systems that have been built out by Governor Murphy’s team.
Remember, even with vaccines being administered and COVID-19 cases now declining, we can’t let our guard down — continue to wear a mask, follow social distancing guidelines and do what we need to do to finally beat this pandemic.
