"This has been a long road of resistance and defense of the Amazon. It is important that these European banks stop supporting businesses that violate human rights.”
------
Months after our research with Stand.earth revealed that six European banks financed billions in oil trade from the Ecuadorian Amazon, four of these banks have committed to immediately exclude Amazon crude from their trade financing activities!
Although BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse, ING, and Rabobank have all taken steps to ensure their financing portfolios line up with their stated commitments to human rights, sustainability, and climate change, Natixis and UBS have not.
