How to prevent exploitation in a virtual world.

** PROTECTING KIDS ON SAFER INTERNET DAY
------------------------------------------------------------

Lockdowns and virtual schooling mean that kids are spending more time than ever online. But so are predators. We have seen reports from countries around the world ([link removed]) warning of the increased risks to children as traffickers are using measures meant to protect communities from COVID-19 to target youth and other vulnerable communities.

Today, as we celebrate Safer Internet Day, take a moment to check out our guides to online safety ([link removed]) , developed to help give youth, educators, and parents practical tools they need in order to protect themselves and their families on the internet. The resources are available in three languages and can be downloaded from our site at no cost.

While the internet has been a positive catalyst for innovation, it has also made it easier for traffickers to hide their identities, make contact with children, photograph them, and profit from these images of sexual abuse. We hope these resources help you to create a safer internet in your own home.

Announcing Our Second Annual Survivor Solidarity Ride
[link removed]

Registration is now open for ECPAT-USA’s Survivor Solidarity Ride ([link removed]) on May 31. This meaningful event brings to light locations where survivors have indicated they were trafficked and where there have been reports of child exploitation. Throughout the ride, we hope to raise awareness of child trafficking and sexual exploitation while celebrating the voices of the brave men and women in our Survivors’ Council.
