There’s no use beating around the bush, folks —

Today, the Senate will begin Donald Trump’s impeachment trial for inciting a violent insurrection against our Capitol.

Listen, I take my responsibility as an impartial juror very seriously, and will hear both sides of the argument today. I took an oath to uphold our Constitution and the rule of law and will live up to my pledge.

For the past four years, Donald Trump and his Republican enablers have peddled conspiracy theories, undermined our democracy, and served their self-interests. But the Capitol insurrection threatened our democracy in a way we hadn’t seen before and we must address it earnestly.

Sign my petition urging my colleagues — both Republicans and Democrats — to put politics aside and take this trial seriously. We owe it to the American people to act as impartial jurors and do what’s right for our country. [[link removed]]
