Friend – The ACLU of Wisconsin, with your help, will be ready to be a voice in the upcoming state budget debates! On February 16, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers will introduce his 2021-2023 biennial budget, laying the foundation for what our state will look like over the next two years. We want to make sure that elected officials know what we – their constituents – want out of the next Wisconsin Budget. We don't want them to just write their own budget planning what to do with our money, without our input. We need to lead the effort for a just and moral state budget. We need to see money invested into public benefits like education and healthcare, not into prisons. I know you care about what's happening to our state and our country. We've got a chance to join with other people from around the state to learn and strategize.
Part 1 budget debrief – In the first hour (10 – 11 a.m.), we will hear from experts about the governor's budget. Part 2 local action workshop – Beginning at 11 a.m., attendees will work with local teams to identify different strategies to take action and create plans to amplify testimony and advocate for the budget we need in Wisconsin. Please RSVP today for the training, and share this link widely, and encourage your friends, neighbors, and lists to attend. We look forward to seeing you there, ACLU of Wisconsin |
