Friend,
Overview (a 6-second scan):
• Congress has no choice but to hold this president accountable.
• The NRCC is on the attack, saying it will cost us our majority.
• I think voters will reward courage in Congress.
• I hope you'll make a contribution to help make sure we hold this seat -- and our majority in the House.

Yesterday, Congress heard from the acting Director of National Intelligence, Joseph Maguire, and got our first look at the whistleblower's report that triggered a formal impeachment inquiry.
The information contained in that report is damning and affirmed that Congress has no choice but to hold this president accountable. He solicited foreign interference in our election process, and then he and his administration tried to cover it up. It's that simple.
Never ones to place principle over politics, the NRCC says it will cost us our majority. The Congressional Leadership Fund -- a special-interest Super PAC -- says my intention to fulfill my oath of office dooms my reelection chances. I think voters will reward courage in Congress. What do you think?
If you believe as I do that Congress has an obligation to hold the executive branch accountable, then I hope you'll make a contribution to help make sure we hold this seat -- and our majority in the House.

Ever since the 2016 election, we often find ourselves asking, "What if Obama had done this?" No credible person could argue that he wouldn't have been impeached. And I would have supported that, too. Because for me, this isn't about politics -- it's about principle, and the oath I took to defend our Constitution.
Unfortunately, we are at a place in our history where courage is in short supply, and where politics has become a blood sport in which the only thing that matters is winning the next election.
Change is coming, but change is also hard. And it requires all of us to stand up for what we believe in. That's what I'm doing, and I hope you'll stand with me today.
Thank you for your many words of encouragement and support in a difficult week for our country. It means a lot to me.
We are in the last few days of the quarter, so every single donation counts right now. Will you donate today and support the work that needs to be done?
Sincerely,
Dean
