This is a historic moment for Michigan. After 2018, three of our state's top offices are now held by women. Three new women Democrats now represent Michigan congressional districts.

One of those new representatives is my friend Haley Stevens. Haley is one of the most passionate and determined public servants I've ever met. She puts Michigan first -- she's done it her whole life.

2020 is right around the corner and Haley is already facing a tough reelection fight. To win, she'll need the resources to fight back against Donald Trump and national Republicans' desperate attempts to take back her seat.

While Mike Pence was voting to let our auto industry go bankrupt, do you know what Haley was doing? She was fighting to save Michigan jobs as a member of President Obama's auto rescue task-force.

Haley fought for Michigan when we needed it the most, but her 2020 Republican opponent is promising to be a Trump administration rubber-stamp.

We've already seen the impact of having voices like Haley's in Washington. Since taking the House, Democrats have passed legislation protecting healthcare, standing up for workers, and ensuring women are paid fairly. Michigan can't afford to lose Haley and our historic momentum.
