As relief package is crafted, lawmakers propose ways to support homeowners [ [link removed] ]
As Congress pursues additional coronavirus relief measures, the House Financial Services Committee tomorrow is set to markup its portion of the next coronavirus relief bill with provisions to support workers, homeowners and renters, and more. In addition, senators have reintroduced legislation to provide financial assistance to homeowners to help them make mortgage and other payments.


NCUA, SBA recent rulemaking efforts focus of Reg Committee meeting [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU's Regulatory Committee meets today to discuss several initiatives and rulemaking efforts and initiatives underway at the NCUA – including the agency's ACCESS initiative to support financial inclusion – the regulatory environment as new leadership gets underway at various agencies, and efforts to support members and communities amid the coronavirus pandemic.


CUs: Share insights into capital issues via NAFCU's ECU Monitor survey [ [link removed] ]
As Congress moves forward with coronavirus relief efforts and regulators outline their priorities for the year, credit unions are encouraged to share their insights and perspective on issues related to capital by participating in this month's Economic & CU Monitor survey. Responses to the survey are due tomorrow; the survey can be filled out online.






Consumer credit rises in December; NAFCU expects modest growth into the summer [ [link removed] ]
Total consumer credit rose 2.8 percent in December (seasonally-adjusted, annualized), up 0.1 percent versus a year ago. NAFCU Chief Economist and Vice President of Research Curt Long analyzed the latest numbers in a new NAFCU Macro Data Flash report.
