John,

I know it's Monday and it's the end of the day, but I wanted to keep you in the loop.

The Morning Call published an article yesterday noting each mayoral candidate's campaign finance reports, and I have to say—I'm so proud of my team of volunteers and supporters—and that includes you, John.

I'm especially proud because, unlike my competitors, I have pledged to not take donations from corporations or developers. And—unlike my competitors—I will not engage in smear campaigns intended to tear down other candidates. It’s not who I am and it’s not what this campaign is about. Like Michelle Obama so gracefully has said: “When they go low, we go high.”

John, all of my contributions have come from individuals who believe in my vision for a better Allentown that serves all residents.

To date, my campaign has received 254 individual contributions. That's more than has been reported by any other candidate. Our most frequent donation amount is $25, and that means we are reaching people at the grassroots level. People who feel empowered to see real change not just in Allentown, but in the world. Our contributions come from 60 cities and towns across 8 states.

With your help we met our January fundraising goal, and we're rolling full steam ahead into February. But—I have to be honest—February and March are the most critical months for fundraising with the primaries right around the corner in May.

That's why I have to ask...

[First Name], will you make a contribution to my campaign today?
Having struggled in the past, I truly hate asking for money, but we need your support to start this month strong.

Can you help by making a contribution of $15, $25, $50, $100, $250? Any and every dollar matters—especially this month. Visit www.cecegerlach.com to learn more and to make a meaningful contribution.

I am and will always be so deeply grateful for how you've all shown up for me. This is a movement, and I can't wait to see what more we can do together!

With so much gratitude,
Ce-Ce Gerlach

P.S. I’m always interested in hearing your thoughts, concerns, and dreams for Allentown’s future. You can reply to this email and trust that I’ll be listening.
