Nearly 450,000 Americans have died of COVID-19. Millions more have lost their jobs, their health care and crucial social safety nets. And as the virus rages on, millions of Americans have not received the COVID vaccine. We need a historic rescue package to contain the virus and deliver relief.

That’s why President Biden has announced his $1.9 trillion ‘American Rescue Plan’ which would provide relief to Americans suffering from the dual economic and public health crises.

While President Biden’s COVID relief should go above and beyond this initial plan — including pursuing policies like $2,000 monthly payments — it’s an important first step. With so many lives on the line, it’s crucial that Congress pass the American Rescue Plan so people can get the relief they need.
