Here in Michigan, we know American manufacturing is the powerhouse of our country. That’s why I’m so proud that President Biden signed his Buy American executive order.

President Biden took immediate action to ensure that when the federal government spends our tax dollars, it buys American-made goods produced by American workers from American-made parts.

This action will help rebuild our economy, especially our middle class, and will support businesses in every region of our country, and all business owners, including small, minority- and women-owned companies. It’s a huge step toward creating a stronger, resilient America ready to meet the challenges of the moment.

I know that our manufacturers are ready to show the world what they can do. Even as our economy took a hit during the coronavirus pandemic, Michigan manufacturers stepped up to produce vital equipment like ventilators when our supply chains failed. I’m confident that we’ll continue to innovate and inspire.
