Texas beer distributors fight human trafficking

To fight human trafficking, beer distributors don't have to change their normal routine; they just need to learn how to recognize and report the signs. In 2018, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission leveraged the power of beer distributors to combat human trafficking in their state through the Wholesale Beer Distributors of Texas. Brown Distributing, a family-owned company based in Austin, Texas, and one of the first companies to complete the human trafficking awareness training, visits more than 4,000 different retail locations on a regular basis. "It made total sense as to how [beer distributors] can help," said Laurie Brown, vice president of Brown Distributing.

Silver Eagle Beverages donates emergency drinking water to volunteer firefighters

Silver Eagle Beverages, a beer distributor based out of San Antonio, Texas, donated more than 7,000 cans of emergency drinking water to the Natalia Volunteer Fire Department in Natalia, Texas, as part of a partnership with Anheuser-Busch. Beer distributors have functioned as essential stewards of their communities, and this is just one example. "Volunteer fire departments need our support, and providing safe drinking water is an important and necessary first step to ensure volunteers are properly hydrated," said John L. Nau III, chairman and CEO of Silver Eagle Beverages.

All of the Super Bowl LV beer commercials

Although there were no Budweiser Clydesdales this year, there were still plenty of beer commercials to enjoy during yesterday's big game. With four minutes of advertising time, Anheuser-Busch promoted four of their products and for the first time ever had a 'corporate' spot all about the power of grabbing a beer with each other.
