I'm going to cut right to the chase, John. To hold on to the House majority, we have to focus our efforts on tough races in California -- like Rep. Katie Porter's re-election in the 45th district.

Rep. Porter is one of the most progressive members of Congress and a dedicated fighter for economic justice, health care access, and improved public education.
She flipped her district in 2018. She stood up to Donald Trump and his enablers in Congress and the executive branch. Then the GOP targeted her seat for the 2020 elections.
Thanks to the support of our Orange County neighbors, she won her first re-election bid. But it was close -- like ours, one of the most competitive House races in California.
You can bet that Republicans have their hearts set on retaking CA-45 in the 2022 midterms, when the party not in power historically has an advantage. That means Rep. Porter will need our help to defend her seat next year.
