Tomorrow, the second Senate impeachment trial of Donald J. Trump begins.

Despite Trump’s clear incitement of the violent insurrection of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, cowardly Republicans are already up in arms about holding their former president accountable.

As the trial kicks off, we can expect to see grandstanding from Trump’s most loyal followers in the Senate who would rather put party and political ambition above country. We’ve seen it again and again.

But the American people must make it crystal clear to the Senate: the President of the United States cannot inspire a violent mob to attack our democracy and get away with it.

Trump may no longer be in the White House, but that doesn’t mean he won’t run for office again in the near future. We need to ensure that can never happen again.

In order to disqualify Trump from future political campaigns, we need 17 Republican Senators to join every Democrat on the right side of history in voting to convict. That’s where you come in.
