Hi,
Right now we are doing something powerful. This week, Special Olympics athletes, families and supporters from 48 U.S. states are meeting virtually with members of Congress. We're asking lawmakers to provide federal support for people with intellectual disabilities (ID). We call it “Special Olympics Capitol Hill Day.”
We want to know what YOU think: Do you support federal funding of Special Olympics?
YES >> [link removed]
NO >> [link removed]
Why are athletes headed (virtually) to Congress? They are speaking up about the stigmas they face and telling their stories about what Special Olympics means to people with ID. Every day they face discrimination, particularly when it comes to education and health care. And we are here to help them.
When members of Congress get to talk with Special Olympics athletes, they are so inspired by athletes’ stories and accomplishments. They see that athletes are the ones driving this movement.
Thanks for sharing your opinion with us. Your answer will help us show lawmakers that people want Congress to support our mission.
