Friend,
Tomorrow, the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump will officially begin in the U.S. Senate — a major flashpoint in the ongoing push to hold him accountable for his dangerous actions.
The House of Representatives already voted to impeach Trump for a second time, and now it’s on our senators to convict him and ban him from public office. His role in inciting the 1/6/21 attack on our country cannot go unanswered.
Tell the Senate: Hold Donald Trump accountable for inciting the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and vote to convict and ban him from office.
Though Trump is no longer president, we cannot heal from the deadly 1/6/21 attack on our democracy without justice. He — and everyone involved — must be held accountable for their seditious actions.
Just last year, the Republican Senate majority failed to convict Trump in his first impeachment trial. They ignored the threat he posed to our democracy, and we saw the consequences this January. For the future of our democracy, this trial must end differently.
If Republicans continue to shrug at Trump’s baseless attempts to overturn election results, it will set a dangerous precedent. We must speak out.
Write to your senators and urge them to vote to convict and ban Donald Trump from public office.
Thank you,
Ben Wessel
