We need your help to fight anti-wolf legislation and propaganda across the nation ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌Friend of Defenders:

Did you see my note? After years of gray wolves being delisted from the
Endangered Species Act in Montana, some of the state's newly-elected lawmakers
are writing a death sentence for Montana's wolves.

This is just the latest example of what can happen when wolves aren't federally
protected. We're fighting to hold off the forces who are trying to destroy wolf
recovery - but we need your help!

Pitch in with your urgent donation to make a stand for gray wolves and other
imperiled wildlife. These vulnerable animals need you!

Montana is the latest example of what happens when wolves aren’t federally
protected. After years of wolves being delisted in the state – and despite
non-stop efforts to minimize conflicts – some of Montana’s newly-elected
lawmakers are writing a death sentence for the state’s wolves.

Their anticipated list of cruel and lethal proposals includes increasing the length of hunting and trapping season and allowing the use of snares to capture and kill wolves .

GIVE TO SAVE WOLVES

Successful federal delisting requires that states have adequate protections in
place. But to prematurely delist wolves – in the face of hostile states and
while wolves are still recovering within their borders – strips away their last
line of defense, opening the floodgates for widespread killing. We’ve seen this
play out in other states where wolves aren’t covered by the Endangered Species
Act. Imagine if that safeguard didn’t exist?

Wolves could be back on the path to being wiped out in the lower 48 once again.

Your urgent donation to Defenders will give voice to vulnerable wolves and other
imperiled animals that have no voice of their own. Please help fight back today!

Together, we’ll hold off the forces seeking to destroy the dream of wolf
recovery in suitable areas. We’re calling on the Biden administration to
reinforce national wolf protections, and if that fails, we’ll turn back to the
courts. We won’t ever give up on wolves.

Thank you for all you do for imperiled wildlife.

Sincerely,

Jamie Rappaport Clark
