John,

46,000 of our union siblings at UAW have been on strike against General Motors since midnight on September 16. They are fighting for fair wages, equality of pay and benefits for all workers, an end to abuses of temporary workers, and affordable quality health care.

The day the strike was launched, your union released a statement in support of striking UAW workers. Now in its 12th day, the ongoing action is UAW’s longest strike since 1985, and the brave autoworkers fighting for dignity, fairness, and respect at GM have captured the attention of the nation.

It's time for us to band together to join a UAW picket line and show these striking workers that AFGE stands with them in total solidarity.

The UAW and labor movement as a whole have shown AFGE members so much support and solidarity during our major battles, and we must return that same solidarity at critical times like these.

Click here to find a list of UAW locals on strike provided to us by the UAW. Please contact the UAW local regarding striking locations. Remember to wear your AFGE gear!

The UAW has also set up a website with more information about the strike and actions each of us can take to help in their efforts.

An injury to one is an injury to all!

Let's keep up the fight,

AFGE National Executive Council
