In Election 2020 ([link removed]) , 16 U.S. House members were elected from districts that voted for the other party’s presidential nominee ([link removed]) .[1] ([link removed])
Nine of these crossover districts are represented by a Republican but voted for Joe Biden ([link removed]) at the presidential level. The other seven selected a Democratic representative but preferred Donald Trump ([link removed]) in the presidential race.[1] ([link removed])
In the other 419 congressional races, voters selected a representative from the same party as their presidential choice. “Overall, the trend of ticket-splitting is on the decline,” according to _Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball_. “Just a decade ago, it was common to see dozens of crossover districts.”[1] ([link removed])
