John,

Did you see the news about the Liberals' preparations for the next election?

An election could be held as early as August this year – and senior Liberals like Josh Frydenberg spent last week telling their side to get ready.

The Liberals will always enjoy a fundraising head-start over Labor – their natural advantages of money, resources and incumbency stack the deck in their favour.

The news that the Liberals have established a fundraising lead shouldn’t surprise anyone – but that doesn’t mean the next election is a done deal by any stretch.

The 50/50 Newspoll released last week is another reminder that the next election is anyone’s game.

Labor has started the year by talking about the need for national reconstruction after COVID that’s squarely focused on jobs – good, secure jobs.

Every day from now until the election, we will show that Labor is on the side of working families.

The Liberals may have a head start on fundraising thanks to their wealthy and powerful backers, but with your help we can start closing that gap.

So can you chip in a donation towards our 2021 Federal Election Campaign Fund?

I'll donate $10

I'll donate $25

I'll donate $50

I'll donate $100

I'll donate another amount

While the Liberals and Nationals can rely on the powerful and the wealthy, we’ve got something they don’t – you.

We’ve got a movement of thousands of Labor supporters just like you who know that Australia needs a Labor government that is on your side.

You’re a crucial part of our movement to deliver a Labor government that’s on the side of hardworking Australians who are doing it tough. Anything you can contribute to help our campaign will help make all the difference as we get closer to the next election.

Thank you for everything you’ve done to support the cause of Labor, and I hope we can count on further support over these coming months.

Thanks,

Paul Erickson
