Sandra Bland would be celebrating her 34th birthday today. She
should be celebrating her 34th birthday today.
But she's not -- because Black women are not valued and Black women are not protected --
especially not at the hands of police.
Today, February 7th 2021, we wish Sandra Bland a happy, heavenly birthday.
Time and again, Black women are met with violence -- treated as if our lives don't matter. In the name of Sandra Bland and the countless others, we must continue to raise our voices and spread our message until they hear us.
Black Lives Matter. Black women matter.
We will always remember Sandra Bland and the safety, love, justice, and liberation she deserved. Let us continue to fight this invaluable fight to protect our Black women.
