John,
People in the Bahamas still need our support.

It's going on three weeks since Hurricane Dorian devastated parts of the Bahamas. Since then, thousands of people haven't been able to go back home because they simply can't. Many have been trying to come to the United States to stay with relatives and friends who can help them during this difficult time.

Please sign this petition asking Congress and the Trump administration to help bring people in the Bahamas to safety. [[link removed]]

Unfortunately, Trump decided to close the doors on our brothers and sisters in need, leaving children, women and the elderly stranded without a home and at risk of danger. The Trump administration even made hundreds of people get off of a ferry because they didn't have a visa, even though they never needed one before and had no embassy to request one from.

Even though we have made an incredible effort in sending them supplies needed for short term recovery, we know very well that recovering from any natural disaster takes time.

That's why we are calling on the Trump administration and Congress to issue expedited visas, waivers, TPS, and/or whatever other measures are necessary to ensure the safety of all the people living in the Bahamas as they and their country face the enormous challenges of recovering from Dorian.

We know that people in the Bahamas don't have a home right now, and that they won't have one for a very long time. Our state and our culture owes so much to the Bahamas, and it's only right to lend them a hand during this time of need.

You are one click away from singing this petition in support of the people in the Bahamas. [[link removed]]

We will deliver your signature together with our friends from the Florida Immigrant Coalition, FANM and Make The Homeless Smile.

Please help us spread the word.

In solidarity,
