A stark quarantine contrast for UMass students

For about 250 UMass students so far, exposure to COVID-19 has not been strictly a health matter. When students are exposed to the coronavirus or test positive for it, the situation also becomes a housing matter.
Many go to the plush Campus Center Hotel, with private bathrooms and modern amenities. Others, including all those who test positive for the virus, are sent to Lincoln Apartments, an aging complex with dingy appliances and an insect problem that was set to be demolished before the university turned it into emergency quarantine living space.
