Dear Jack,

Survival teams worldwide have been taking to the streets for the climate strikes this past week, to give a platform to tribal peoples and remind people that indigenous rights are at the heart of our fight against climate change.

We're amplifying the voices that matter. Tribal and indigenous peoples are the best guardians of the natural world and they depend on, defend and nurture their lands. It's no coincidence that 80% of the planet's biodiversity is found in indigenous territories.

The recent horrific fires in the Amazon were a wake-up call: The world MUST start listening to those who have done the least to cause climate change, but are among those most affected by it.

Survival International is calling for the #TribalVoice ([link removed]) to be at the forefront of conversations about the climate emergency. And we're fighting alongside indigenous people for climate justice and an approach to conservation that puts them at its heart.
How can YOU can help? Make sure the protests you go to and actions you take for climate justice always highlight indigenous rights. As Yanomami spokesperson, Davi Kopenawa, says: "If we don't fight together, what will our future be?"

This isn't about one week of action... We're campaigning to help protect tribal peoples' lands this week, next week... and for as long as it takes. It's what's best for tribes, for nature, and all humanity.
