Team,
As Vice Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I’m no stranger to the “Infrastructure Week” madness of the Trump presidency. It feels like it was all we heard about for four long years — but nothing ever got done.
The New York Times put it best in May 2019: “At this point in the Trump presidency, 'Infrastructure Week' is less a date on the calendar than it is a 'Groundhog Day'-style fever dream doomed to be repeated.”
The good news is we have an opportunity — finally — to put American infrastructure back on the agenda. Can I count on your support today as we get started on rebuilding American infrastructure and putting people back to work?
Over the last four years, it was clear to all of us that a plan to put Americans back to work and rebuild our crumbling roads and bridges wasn’t coming.
There was no plan. Just empty words.
The American people are back on the agenda. That’s why I’m excited about our work, team.
From modernizing our infrastructure, to repairing roads and bridges, to establishing broadband networks that everyone can access, Democrats' commitment to creating good paying jobs isn’t just a slogan — it’s a promise.
Words matter, and we mean what we say.
Our agenda is critical to rebuilding our struggling economy and fixing our crumbling infrastructure, friend. If you support the NewDems’ pragmatic and progressive agenda for moving America forward, please chip in $15 or whatever you can afford to support our work in Congress.
