John -- As you know, domestic terrorists attacked our nation’s capitol with the express purpose of preventing a democratic process from certifying President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ electoral victory. More than that, they actively sought to harm legislators like AOC, Cori Bush, and others while ransacking the building.

In the aftermath of this terrorist attack and attempted coup, two recently elected Brand New Congress representatives are calling for accountability and justice. Rep. Jamaal Bowman sponsored H.R. 276 to create a commission (much like the one we had in the aftermath of 9/11) to investigate not only the treason of these insurgents, but how exactly they invaded the people’s House. Rep. Cori Bush sponsored H.Res. 25 to investigate members of Congress who may have helped these terrorists and subsequently violated their oaths of office. 

We stand with our BNC representatives in their calls for accountability. Terrorism must not go unpunished, and corruption must be rooted out of our democracy before it causes even further harm. So many politicians have been bought and paid for by special interests, and simply do not care about our government other than to use it to create personal wealth and steal from our nation's working people. 

Stopping this is why we started Brand New Congress, and why we will keep fighting for you! While hundreds of BNC volunteers help elect our amazing candidates, this work costs money. Our candidates don't accept corporate donations and rely on grassroots support.
