Politico has already named Lucy one of the seven most vulnerable Democrats in the House, and it’s clear why.

FIRST: After Lucy won, top Republican operatives in Georgia went directly to the media saying that defeating Lucy was a top priority in 2022, and that they intended to do that by gerrymandering districts in this year’s redistricting process.

THEN: New voter suppression legislation was introduced in the Georgia legislature. They want to change the rules — like cutting absentee voting options — to make it harder for Democrats to vote.

NOW: We need to start preparing for the challenging fight ahead. Early resources will allow us to continue organizing on the ground, and if our movement shows up strong now, then it will make Republicans think twice about targeting Lucy with underhanded, anti-democratic tactics.
