"[Republicans] can do QAnon, or they can do college-educated voters. They cannot do both.” —DCCC Chair, Sean Patrick Maloney
Maloney stated last week that QAnon would be the centerpiece of DCCC messaging in 2022.
There’s no doubt that Republicans supporting lawmakers like Marjorie Taylor Green is dangerous and unacceptable. But most voters ALSO want to hear about relief checks, guaranteed health care coverage, and raising wages.
Democrats are working hard to get people all of those things and more. So why isn’t the Democratic establishment focused on right-wing extremism AND popular, winning issues like health care?
We’re recruiting candidates to run for Congress on platforms focused on defeating white supremacy AND Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and raising wages.
A key to victory in the Georgia Senate elections in early January was focusing on what Senators Ossoff and Warnock would do for their constituents. They promised $2,000 relief checks. They talked about expanding health care coverage. And so did President Biden.
The House is working right now to pass a $15 minimum wage, stronger union protections, an historic COVID relief package, strong voting rights legislation, and so much more. These are things that will help folks in every red, blue, and purple district out there, and they need to be included as a central part of Democratic messaging heading into midterm elections.
We’re building a movement to fight white supremacy and make the Democratic party more responsive to the progressive future voters want.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
