Hey there,
Biden has been messaging about unity for months -- and it's starting to become clear what that actually means.
According to Daily Kos, “Biden recently clarified that to him, unity meant coalescing around what a majority of Americans think will improve their lives, but not necessarily securing Republican votes for those policies.
“In short, it's about the public, not the lawmakers.”
And if a new Monmouth University poll is any indication, it seems like the public has gotten behind his conception of unity -- 71% of Americans say they'd prefer to see Republicans work together with the new president rather than “focus on keeping Biden in check.”
But the GOP has been manipulating the narrative to mean moving on from the violent insurrection and letting all those accountable -- the former president included -- get off scot-free.
That's not the kind of unity WE think Joe Biden has in mind. Will you share with us where you stand? Tell us now:
Do you support Biden's message of unity?
