Prayer Partner Weekly Update
February 6, 2021

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

– Deuteronomy 31:8

Africa & Europe

  • Praise God for a good meeting between IJM Kenya and Sisters for Justice in Mombasa about working in the community to end sexual exploitation. Pray that as the work in Mombasa begins, IJM would grow strong relationships with many other partners in order to protect children from abuse together.

Latin America

  • Continue praying for IJM Bolivia staff, for our partners, the survivors we serve and the Bolivian people in general as a new surge of COVID-19 hits the country. Several cities are returning to more restrictive measures and even the justice system is adapting again. To ensure safety of all parties, courts have moved several hearings to a virtual format. Pray for wisdom for public officials as they take on virtual hearings, pray for no suspensions and that justice for victims of sexual violence won't be delayed in this season.

South Asia

  • Please pray for the success of Operation Smile, an ongoing police campaign focused on finding missing children and rescuing child laborers. IJM staff will be supporting this two-week sweep, as police conduct a series of operations to free children from forced begging, child labor and other crimes. Pray for endurance, focus, safety and God's favor over IJM staff and our partners. Pray we could find children in need and bring them to safety, so they can begin the childhoods they deserve.

Southeast Asia

  • Praise God for the bravery of migrant workers in Thailand who reported their exploitation at a confectionary factory and requested rescue. And praise God for the quick response of authorities, partnering with IJM to bring rescue to 18 workers who may be victims of forced labor and human trafficking, including two 16-year-olds. Pray for the IJM team and officials as they collect statements and evidence, that the case would be clear and justice would be done.

IJM HQ & Global Partners

IJM global headquarters is located in the United States. IJM has Partner Offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the US.

  • Praise God for the opportunity to draw attention to human trafficking with partners like the Super Bowl Host Committee's Commission to Address Human Trafficking, as well as many major athletes. Pray that the audience for the United States' largest sporting event would be moved to learn more about the issue domestically and abroad.
