Hello John,
I am emailing you today with great urgency. We have just ONE DAY LEFT to gather as many responses as possible to say YES to a ban on the primate pet trade!
Right now the Government is consulting on a possible ban on primates as pets in England. So animal advocates like us need to let them know that we would support a ban!
TAKE ACTION:
www.freedomforanimals.org.uk/have-your-say-ban-primates-as-pets
The consultation is only open until 6th February - ONE MORE DAY - so we must act fast!

Shockingly it is still legal to buy and 'own' a monkey, and keep them captive in your home. Thousands of primates are being kept as 'pets', and they live in awful conditions.
Monkeys are often kept in parrot or rat cages in living rooms. Some have been kept in garden sheds. Often they are kept alone, deprived of the company of their own kind. Many become too difficult to handle as they grow and may spend their whole lives locked in a cage.
** It is clear that this trade is cruel and causes immense suffering. Primates are not pets!
------------------------------------------------------------
So please, respond to the consultation today and make it clear that you support a ban on the primate pet trade! We have just one day left!
SAY YES TO A BAN! ([link removed])
When responding, be sure to make it clear that you would support a total ban on this trade, and NOT accept any form of further licensing to keep primates captive. These are wild animals whose needs can never be met as pets - only a ban will protect them!

P.S. Please don't delay in taking action today to protect primates from a lifetime of misery. Tell DEFRA to ban the primate pet trade! ([link removed])
