John,
Last month we celebrated the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, a historic moment for the country and a major win for LGBTQ equality. To close out the month, NCTE featured a special community webinar capturing our planned work for 2021. There is still plenty to do!
For those of you who missed last week's call, you can access a recording of the webinar here. Please join me and my colleagues D. Ojeda, Policy Advocate, and Rodrigo Heng-Lehtinen, Deputy Executive Director, as we outline NCTE's vision for 2021.
Already, we are pleased to share that President Biden has repealed the trans military ban, rolled back anti-trans health care and housing policies (relics of the discrimination administration), and promised that his administration will be an ally to the trans community. On the flip-side, our community continues to face attacks at the state level--especially the most vulnerable among us, trans youth. There is still so much work to be done, and we are far from finished. Please consider donating today to fuel the movement in 2021.
We will remain on the frontlines as long as it takes, advancing protections for trans and non-binary people across the country. Will you consider making a donation to strengthen our fight for trans equality?
And if you are able, please consider making your donation a monthly gift. There are more than 16 states that have introduced anti-trans bills at the beginning of their state legislative sessions. A monthly donation ensures we sustain the fight against these terrible bills that take aim at trans people, particularly trans youth.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Sincerely,
|
