Congress has the power to stand up for refugees. Take Action today. »

Dear John,

Thousands of refugees have just had the rug pulled out from under them.

Today, the Trump administration slashed the number of refugees it will allow into this country to just 18,000, the lowest number ever. This decision throws countless refugee families – including people who were just days away from traveling – back into limbo. As a result, refugee parents will be forced to break the news to their children that their dreams of rebuilding their lives, of going to school in safety and security are on hold indefinitely.

We can't allow this to happen.

Congress has the power to stand up to this cruel and un-American decision. Right now, they are considering a bill called the GRACE Act which would reverse these harmful cuts and restore America's legacy as a safe haven for persecuted people. But they need to hear from you today.

The GRACE Act will set a minimum annual refugee admissions goal of 95,000, the historic average under both Republican and Democratic presidents for the last four decades. With nearly 26 million refugees seeking safety from war and persecution, 90% of whom are living in poor and middle-income countries, America should be doing more, not less. Resettlement provides a crucial lifeline to the most vulnerable among these refugees, who represent less than 1% of the global total.

The most powerful nation in the world should not turn away the most vulnerable. Together, we can stand up for these refugees and ensure the refugee admissions program is preserved.

Call your member of Congress and ask them to support the GRACE Act today. A quick call can make all the difference for refugee families around the world seeking safety from war and persecution. Even if this administration turns its back on refugees, Congress and the American people have the power to stand up for refugees and America’s tradition of welcome.

Together we can fight back against this devastating decision and support refugees for whom resettlement in the U.S. is a last resort. Make your call today »

Thank you for standing with us and with refugees around the world,
