I wanted to make sure you saw yesterday’s email from Governor Tony Evers. In case you missed it, the Republican-held state legislature jumped through some extraordinary hoops to throw out our state’s mask mandate, and overturn the public health state of emergency that the mandate was declared under. That’s right: Wisconsin Republicans yesterday voted to undermine the Governor, disregard science, and put each and every one of us at risk for another, worse wave of COVID-19.
This is unacceptable, and it’s something that we simply will not stand for. We will not let Republicans across the country see Wisconsin as the first domino to toppling common sense, science, and public health across the country. We can’t let this attack on our safety go without a fight. Can I count on you to chip in what you can so we can keep fighting to implement the urgent recommendations of medical professionals? It’s more important than ever that we unite as Democrats, and start investing early to re-elect Governor Evers, defeat Ron Johnson, and retake our state legislature from anti-science Republicans.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused tremendous pain in our state. We all have a responsibility to our community, to protect one another and stop unneeded suffering. We must listen to our scientists and medical professionals.
Their advice was clear and uniform — if everyone wore a facial covering, fewer people would suffer and die from COVID-19.
So, as a person who recognizes the reality of science, I listened to them and I issued a public health order for folks to wear face coverings.
Look, I know you would have done the same thing because this isn’t about politics, it’s about basic rationality and decency.
Sadly, just today, the Wisconsin Assembly voted to overturn my order for public health safety measures. They would rather ignore the medical professionals and endanger our neighbors so that they can play cheap political games.
We can’t let this attack on our safety go without a fight. Can I count on you to chip in what you can so we can keep fighting to implement the urgent recommendations of medical professionals?
