John,
In case you missed it, I recently spoke with
Inside California Politics about the urgent need to make progress on immigration reform.
There’s a lot going on in Washington, but we can’t lose sight of this opportunity to pass much-need reforms to our immigration system.
This is more urgent than ever. Many Dreamers and immigrants in our community are on the frontlines of the pandemic -- working as health care workers, serving in the military. It’s past time that we treat them with the respect and dignity they’ve earned.
Hearing their stories, I can’t help but be reminded of my grandparents who immigrated to the United States from Mexico when they were young children. They found success starting a small business and raising a family of five -- including my mother.
I’m confident that with Joe Biden in the White House, and Democrats in control of Congress, we’ll be able to make progress. But it’s going to take a groundswell of grassroots support to keep this issue front and center in Congress.
Please take the time if you’re able to
view the interview and share it with friends and family. It will take all of us in order to make progress on this issue.
Thanks,
Mike
