John,

Today, Trayvon Martin would have turned 26 years old.

Happy birthday, Trayvon.

Today, we are thinking about Trayvon's mother, family, and friends.

We are deeply inspired by Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon's mother, in her work and dedication to putting an end to gun violence in our communities and instead, invest and empower our communities. We are proud to always support Sybrina and the Trayvon Martin Foundation.

Visit the foundation's website to get involved in their Trayvon Martin Remembrance Weekend or to make a donation.

Trayvon showed us that far too many people still see Black children, women, and men as threats instead of human beings. Our movement is still fighting to put an end to the same conditions that led to Trayvon's death -- because 9 years later, these conditions have been exacerbated.

John, we remain dedicated to the fight against systems of oppression and the state-sanctioned violence that led to Trayvon’s death. And we don't plan on stopping until we put an end to gun violence and discrimination against our Black lives.

We deserve to thrive, not just fight for survival.

In love and solidarity,
