Investigators Find No Indication of Extremist Ties
The intruder who breached Joint Base Andrews, Md., on Feb. 4 made it to the flight line and boarded a C-40 aircraft from the installation’s 89th Airlift Wing before being apprehended and detained by base security forces, the base wrote in a Feb. 5 release obtained by Air Force Magazine. USAF did not immediately say whether the intruder boarded a C-40B, which serves as an airborne command center for combatant commanders, or a C-40C, which mostly ferries members of Congress and cabinet members, but doesn’t have the same advanced communications system.
