American oystercatcher

Tell the U.S. Senate to confirm nominee Michael Regan for EPA Administrator

John,

Climate change is destroying and fragmenting wildlife habitat. Birds like the American oystercatcher depend on low-lying coastal habitats for nesting, but increasingly intense storm surges and rising seas are washing away nests and vital vegetation. After four years of environmental rollbacks and delayed federal action, we need a leader at the Environmental Protection Agency who champions climate, science, and community engagement.

Call on your senators to swiftly confirm experienced environmental public servant Michael Regan.

Our nation’s wildlife are best served when a president appoints an Environmental Protection Agency administrator who is guided by science, is committed to serving the public over special interests, and listens to communities experiencing the worst effects of the climate crisis. In North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Secretary Michael Regan, President Joe Biden has selected an experienced advocate who can protect the land, water, and air upon which our families and cherished wildlife depend.

In his role, Secretary Regan has overseen North Carolina’s removal of toxic coal ash pollution, transition towards a clean energy economy, and expansion of environmental educational partnerships with the state’s innovative and prestigious historically Black colleges and universities. With one-third of our nation’s wildlife species in decline, we need a leader who will meet this moment. Secretary Regan is that leader.

American oystercatchers, moose, and other climate-vulnerable species are depending on the Senate to confirm leaders who know that climate action means reducing harmful carbon emissions and protecting homes and habitats from climate-fueled disasters. Secretary Regan is the leader who can help chart a new course for the agency, guided by science and equity, and restore Americans’ faith in an Environmental Protection Agency that works for them.

Please call on your senators to support Secretary Regan to be the next Environmental Protection Agency administrator.
