As Congress returns and the new administration finds its stride, our advocacy efforts are more important than ever. When senators and representatives start moving through their legislative agenda, we are going to be ready to bring maternal health to their attention.

Here’s is one of the key issues we are focused on for this session that has demonstrated impact on saving lives of childbearing families:

Expanding and adequately funding Medicaid is one of the most important ways that we can support pregnant and birthing people. This is especially true for Black women and women of color, who are disproportionately impacted by poor maternal healthcare and COVID-19. Thousands of women lose Medicaid coverage after the first sixty days postpartum. About 1 in 3 pregnancy-related deaths occur 1 week to 1 year after delivery.

We are at a critical moment to drive change at the national level. The work we do now can change how we support moms across the entire country.

Your support provides us the resources we need to fight back. [[link removed]]

The pandemic has only amplified the challenges mothers and pregnant people face. Poor access to healthcare has become worse. Supporting moms and birthing people following birth in the next COVID-relief package is critical.

We are not backing down from this fight. In fact, this fight is more important than ever.

By supporting March for Moms, you are helping us advocate on behalf of the women and families who deserve equitable and high-quality care. Their needs deserve to be addressed in the next COVID relief bill and beyond.
