The Unz Review Digest - February 5, 2021
Ranking first by a wide margin this last week was Nick Kollerstrom’s article arguing that the supposed worldwide Covid-19 epidemic was largely a hoax, with the large reported spikes of “excess deaths” in Britain and various other afflicted countries much more likely due to the impact of the associated lockdowns rather than the virus itself. This controversial thesis naturally provoked a large outpouring of more than 500 contentious comments, totaling nearly 65,000 words.
Placing second was Dr. Alan Sobrosky’s piece focusing on the political aftermath of the storming of the Capitol by angry Trump supporters, with America’s politically-dominant Democratic party undertaking a harsh crackdown against the half of the population that supported Trump, including severe suppression of free speech on social media platforms and the effective militarization of DC, with thousands of troops being stationed there on a longterm basis. In his opinion, we are likely to enter a period of “Blue Terror” not necessarily so different from the “Red Terror” imposed by the Bolsheviks after their 1917 coup in Russia. These issues were discussed in more than 250 comments totaling over 30,000 words. Gregory Hood’s sixth place article focused on some of these same issues, and the tremendous legal attacks against “white advocates.”
Our third most popular featured article was Karl Thorburn’s analysis of the Reddit-based “short squeeze” on GameStop stock, that seems to have cost short-selling hedge funds many billions or even tens of billions of dollars, representing a populist, grass-roots attack on Wall Street.
Ranking fourth was Trevor Lynch’s discussion of the famous Clint Eastwood film Dirty Harry, which appeared almost exactly a half-century ago and quickly inspired a major wave of anti-criminal vigilante films of the 1970s, reflecting a popular backlash against the huge wave of crime that had swept through so many major American cities from the mid-1960s onward, provoking a discussion of over 250 comments totaling more than 35,000 words.
And rounding out our most popular featured articles of the week was Philip Giraldi’s discussion of the likely capitulation of the new Biden Administration to Israeli demands regarding Iran and other Middle Eastern policies.
A British View of the Imposture
2020 saw 14% more deaths than average, last year in England & Wales and that amounted to seventy-five thousand extra deaths. We here use the Office of National statistics figures, as it gives total weekly deaths, plus also for comparison an average value of corresponding weekly deaths over the previous five years.[1] That compares with...

One of the great paradoxes of American democracy is that much of what makes it worth having also renders it vulnerable to mortal threats. This is particularly true when the threats are internal, and the domestic enemies adept at using their constitutionally guaranteed rights and privileges to gnaw away at the society that nurtured and...

If you’re new to high finance, then the concept of “shorting” is bizarre and convoluted. People actually make money from stocks falling? How is this possible? Why is it legal? Does this contribute anything to society? Am I missing out? Here’s how shorting works. Let’s say you have a neighbor who is a cat lady...

The Regime on the Potomac has begun its campaign of repression. Media hysterics about “insurrectionists” and a vague Department of Homeland security bulletin about terrorism created an artificial crisis. Figures in the new Administration are eager to use state power against “racists,” even while they tolerate real crime. Add to this the concepts of “restorative...

Jewish Control, Zionist Subversion and the “Contradictions” of Anti-Semitism
Parasite’s grin: Bibi Netanyahu greets Jonathan Pollard, the Jewish spy who did huge harm to his “own nation” of America on behalf of Israel Like all decent people, I stand unshakably with the powerless Jewish community against the vile scourge of anti-Semitism and anti-Jewish racism. And in order to better defend cowering Jews against their...

President Joe Biden has already made it clear that legislation that will be used to combat what he refers to as “domestic terrorism” will be a top priority. That means that his inaugural speech pledge to be the president for “all Americans” appears to apply except for those who don’t agree with him. Former Barack...

The rentier resurgence and takeover
Summary[1a] Marx and many of his less radical contemporary reformers saw the historical role of industrial capitalism as being to clear away the legacy of feudalism – the landlords, bankers and monopolists extracting economic rent without producing real value. But that reform movement failed. Today, the Finance, Insurance and Real Estate (FIRE) sector has regained...

So the Davos Agenda has come and gone. That was the virtual Great Reset preview, hosted by Kissinger acolyte cum World Economic Forum (WEF) oracle Herr Klaus Schwab. The rhetoric of these people was revolutionary: there was talk of “crossing the Rubicon.” A crowd chanted “Hang Mike Pence.” Somebody erected makeshift gallows. Some grandiosely claimed, “The storm is coming,” while Alex Jones promised that “1776 will commence again.” In a similar vein Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert controversially tweeted “Today is 1776” while events...

In this part of the world, the first side effect of vaccines has been political. Europe’s nations are now competing to get vaccinated, and the ructions have been considerable. In the continuing story of coronavirus, this week brings two stories about limitations. First, a clarification. When I speak of "Biden" I don't mean the fungus (to use Tom Luongo's apt expression) which was recently planted in the White House, I am referring to the "collective Biden" which I defined here . California’s population growth is at its lowest recorded level since 1900 adding “just 21,200 residents” in the fiscal year that ended on July 1, which was just a “0.05% increase.” This decline is in large part due to the post-pandemic exodus on top of an already rapidly ageing population. The average fertility rate for Californians...
