Friend

At the end of this email, I'm going to ask you to contribute to Evergreen Action. But first, I want to explain why.

In the last week, we've watched with excitement as the government took major steps toward a clean energy economy.

In confirmation hearings for President Biden's Cabinet, nominee after nominee elevated climate and clean energy as issues of paramount importance. "One hundred and twenty-six thousand Michiganders were working in clean energy before COVID-19 hit," said Energy Secretary nominee and former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm. "This is a sector that every single state can benefit from. The products that reduce carbon emissions are going to create a $23 trillion global market by 2030. That is a massive opportunity." We couldn't agree more.

Last Wednesday, President Biden temporarily stopped new oil and gas permits on public lands and ordered federal agencies to eliminate fossil fuel subsidies—two policy priorities we've been directly advocating for.

And in the last week alone, we've released two substantive reports—one on ending fossil fuel subsidies and one that's a roadmap to 100% clean electricity by 2035—making waves on both Capitol Hill and in the press.

In other words, we're winning.

Our collective pressure is reverberating in public policy, and we can't take our foot off the gas now. Will you make a donation to Evergreen Action today to support our upcoming pressure campaigns on leaders across the country?
